Lake Zurich Police: $38,000 in Appliances, Cabinets Stolen from Home

Police reports for the week from Aug. 27 to 29.

A resident reported someone removed $38,000 worth of items from his home in the 200 block of Clairview Court, police said. Cabinets, appliances, and countertops were taken from the home on Aug. 26, reports stated.

Retail theft

Augustine H. Lee, 54, of 1760 Baymore Drive, Inverness, was arrested for retail theft at 680 South Rand Road on Aug. 28, police said.  Lee is accused of removing a headset from the business without paying for the item, police said.  Lee was charged with retail theft and obstructing identification. Lee was released after posting $150 in cash with a Waukegan court date of Sept. 20.

DUI arrest

Tim P. Morgan, 58, of 149 Glen Road, Hawthorn Woods, IL was arrested for driving under the influence following a crash investigation in the 300 block of Church Street on Aug. 28, police said. Morgan showed signs of impairment during field sobriety testing. He was also charged with driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 and failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of Sept. 23.

Criminal damage

Someone damaged a portable toilet at Staples Park during the past week, police said. No estimate was available for the damage but further action is pending, police said.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Nicholas H. Cartwright, 21, of 211 Churchill Court Round Lake, was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Route 12 at Old McHenry Road on Aug. 27, police said. Cartwright was also charged with improper lane usage and possession of cannabis, according to reports. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of Aug. 23.
