Lake County Sheriff Holds Child Safety Seat Checkpoint

Parents can drop by in Mundelein to check if their child's seat is installed properly.

On Saturday, June 2nd from 10am - 1pm, the Lake County Sheriff's Office along with the Countryside Fire Department will be offering a Car Seat Safety Check at the Countryside Fire Department, Station 1, 801 S. Midlothian in Mundelein.

The check point is for all parents, grandparents and caretakers who need help installing their child seat or would like a certified technician to check their installed seat for proper fit.  Child restraint installation can be confusing due to so many different makes and models of vehicles and seats.  Attendees are asked to bring their vehicle manuals and child seat manuals, if available, to the event.  The check is offered at no cost.
