Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods Police Blotter: Fraud, DUI

These incidents were among the official reports of Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

Hawthorn Woods

DUI

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 11:54 p.m., Hawthorn Woods police made a traffic stop at Old McHenry and North Milton roads. Douglas T. Brown, 23, of 477 E. Lake Shore Drive, North Barrington, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage, and driving under the influence-alcohol/drugs. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Jan. 9 court date.

Kildeer

Criminal Damage to Property

Kildeer police took a report on Saturday, Dec. 1, that ComEd utility boxes at East Cuba Road and Lakeridge Court were spray-painted.

Fraud

On Dec. 4, Kildeer police received a report from a resident on North Boschome Circle of wire fraud. The report involved wire transfers to unknown persons with a loss of $21,145. Police are investigating.

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
