'Keep the Wreath Red' this Holiday Season

The Lake Zurich Fire/Rescue Department is kicking off its annual fire safety initiative.

The will once again join fire departments throughout Illinois by participating in the “Keep the Wreath Red” program.

The purpose of the “Keep the Wreath Red” program is to remind everyone to be safe during the Holiday Season.

The Lake Zurich Fire/Rescue Department has placed a wreath containing red bulbs in front of Fire Station No. 1 at 321 S. Buesching Road. The intent is to “Keep the Wreath Red.” If a fire occurs during the holiday season in which holiday decorations are involved, one of the red bulbs will be changed to a white bulb. This will indicate that a fire was holiday-related.
