iPads,iPods Stolen from LZ Elementary School

Seth Paine Elementary School burglarized.

Lake Zurich police are investigating a burglary at Seth Paine Elementary School where someone stole dozens of iPads and iPods, according to reports.

School authorities reported the burglary at 7:09 a.m. Tuesday. The school, located at 50 Miller Road, was burglarized overnight when someone kicked through an air conditioning unit, according to news reports.

As many as 70 iPads and iPods were stolen, police said.

All classrooms at Seth Paine have two iPads loaded with apps to assist the students with the curriculum and the building has five iPads and 16 iPods available for check-out, according to a newsletter on the school’s website. The technology was purchased through the school’s PTO, the District 95 Educational Foundation and Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95.

Lake Zurich police are investigating and did not release any additional information. Anyone with information about the case should contact the police department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 847-719-1695.
