Hawthorn Woods Police Blotter: DUI and Traffic Arrest

These incidents were among the official reports of the Hawthorn Woods Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

DUI

Karen A. Guss, 53, 747 Huntington Dr., Lake Zurich was arrested at 10”13 p.m. Nov. 16, at 23565 N. Quentin Rd., and charged with failure to reduce speed, leaving the scene of an accident, DUI-alcohol and driving with a BAC of .08.

Guss hit the other vehicle from behind traveling southbound on Quentin Road, according to Hawthorn Woods records supervisor Jan Filenko. The driver of the other vehicle lost control and went off the roadway. The offending vehicle continued southbound on Quentin Rd.  The license plate had fallen off her vehicle after the accident so they were able to locate her, according to Filenko.

She was released after posting $100 and her drivers license and has a court date of Dec. 12 in Waukegan.

Driving While License Suspended/Revoked

Lee A. Doetsch, 41, of 367 N. Sussler St., Grayslake, was arrested at 6:11 a.m., Nov. 15, at Darlington Drive and Old McHenry Road. She was charged with speeding and driving while license suspended/revoked. She was released on a personal recognizance and has a Dec. 27 court date in Mundelein.

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
