DUIs and Driving on Suspended License: Police Blotter

These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.

 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DUI)                              

Sylwia A. Kopacz, 25, 1300 Inverrary Lane in Palatine, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at Ela Road in Lake Zurich, at 12:20 a.m., Feb. 17.  Kopacz was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Kopacz was issued a court date of March 25 in Waukegan and was released after posting $300 cash bond. 

Donna L. Postilion, 54, 1034 Pheasant Ridge Drive in Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 12 at N. Old Rand Road in Lake Zurich at 4:40 a.m, Feb. 17.  Postilion was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Under the Influence with a B.A.C. of .08 or more.  Postilion was issued a court date of March 18 in Waukegan and was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond. 

TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS)                               

Silvia J. Izurieta, 25, 41 Golfview Road in Lake Zurich, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended on Route 12 at Wilmette Terrace in Lake Zurich, at 5:46 p.m., Feb. 16.   Izurieta was charged with Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Izurieta was issued a Mundelein court date of March 1 and was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.                            

Kevin M. Schaar, 20, 3811 Revova Lane in Bozeman, MT, was arrested for driving while driver’s license is suspended in the 600 block of North Rand Road in Lake Zurich, at 4:35 p.m., Feb. 18.   Schaar was charged with Failure to Wear Safety Belt and Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended.  Schaar was issued a Mundelein court date of April 5 and was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
