Drivers Without Licenses; Portable Toilet Burned; Vehicle Windows Broken; Handbag Stolen at Park

Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from April 9-15.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Driving Without A Valid License

Santiago M. Monterde, 22, of 45 Miller Rd., Lake Zurich, was arrested at 7:22 a.m., Thursday, April 14, for driving with no valid driver’s license on Route 12 at Deerpath Road, police reports said. Monterde was stopped for failure to yield while turning left at intersection and was charged with failure to yield while turning left at an intersection and driving with no valid driver’s license, according to police reports. Monterde was issued a Wednesday, May 4, court date in Mundelein and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

Driving With A Suspended License

Michael J. Abraham, 21, of 210 Rosehall #270, Lake Zurich was arrested at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 14, for driving with a suspended driver’s license on Ela Road at Route 12, police reports said.  Abraham was involved in a traffic crash at the time and was charged with driving while registration is suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while driver’s license is suspended, according to police reports. Abraham was issued a Friday, May 6, court date in Mundelein and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond.

Warrant For Traffic Charges

Celso Salgado, 31, of 426 Butrick, Waukegan was arrested at 5:01 p.m., Thursday, April 14, on a warrant in the 400 block of Oakwood Road, police reports said.  The warrant is for failure to appear on traffic charges in Lake County with a bond of $25,000, according to police reports. Salgado was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing. 

Juvenile Driving Without A License

A 15-year-old male from Lake Zurich was arrested at 4:53 p.m., Friday, April 13, for driving with no valid driver’s license in the 300 block of S. Rand Road, police reports said.  The juvenile was called in as a reckless driver and was found to only possess an instructional permit and wasn’t driving with an authorized passenger, according to police reports. The juvenile was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and driving with no valid driver’s license, police reports said.  Court action pending.   

Portable Toilet Burned

Someone ignited a fire in a portable toilet in the 500 block of Applegate Lane, it was reported to police at 11:10 p.m., Wednesday, April 13. The estimated cost of the damage is $1,500. This matter is pending further investigation.

Window of Vehicle Broken

Someone broke the rear window of a woman’s vehicle during the overnight hours while the vehicle was parked in the 100 block of North Pleasant Road, she reported to police at 8:20 a.m., Monday, April 11.  Cost of the damage is estimated at $500.  Further action is pending. 

Handbag Stolen at Park

Someone stole a woman’s handbag while she was at a park in the 1200 block of Lexington Lane, she reported to police at 5:31 p.m., Monday, April 11.  The handbag contained the victim’s cellular telephone, cash and other personal items.  The loss is estimated at $450.  Further action is pending.

Burglary to Vehicle

Someone broke the rear window of a woman’s rental vehicle and removed personal items and electronics, she reported to police at 11:46 a.m., Sunday, April 10. The loss is estimated at $1,000.  This matter is under investigation.

Driving Without A Valid License

Quintana Pedro, 51, of 1799 Queensbury Drive, Hoffman Estates, was arrested at 11:11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, for driving with no valid driver’s license pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Cuba Road, police reports said.  Pedro was charged with disobeying a traffic control device and driving without a valid driver’s license, according to police reports. Pedro was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Wednesday, May 4, court date in Mundelein.

Driving With A Suspended License

Ariel L. Starks, 20, of 1027 Charlela Lane, Elk Grove Village, was arrested at 9:28 a.m., Friday, April 8, for driving with a suspended license pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Samantha Lane, police reports said. Starks was charged with speeding, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to police reports. Starks was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Wednesday, May 4, court date in Mundelein.

Driving With A Suspended License

Chad A. Yeomans, 26 of 1146 Meech Road Williamston, MI was arrested at 1:30 a.m., Saturday, April 9, for driving with a suspended license pursuant to a traffic stop in the 900 block of South Rand Road, police reports said. Yeomans was charged with driving without tail lamps when required and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to police reports. Yeomans was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Friday, May 5, court date in Mundelein.
