Counterfeit $20s, Cannabis Possession and Theft of Gas

Lake Zurich Police reports for this week.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Counterfeit $20s

On April 25 at 11:42 a.m., police were called to a business on the 800 block of South Rand Road to take a complaint about counterfeit bills. A customer purchased merchandise and paid with five counterfeit $20 bills. Police are investigating.

Traffic Violations

Glenn O. Spence, 53, 4766 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended during a traffic stop in the 600 block of south Rand Road, at 1:14 a.m., April 25. He was also charged with operating an uninsured vehicle and failure to signal. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 4.

Jose Medrano, 24, 11 Pamela Rd., Lake Zurich was arrested at 7:50 a.m., April 27, for driving without a valid license during a traffic stop at Route 12 and June Terrace. He was also charged with operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without lights when required. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a June 6 court date.

Possession of Cannabis

On April 27 at 5:41 p.m., officers made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Church street and located a cannabis smoking pipe and under 2.5 grams of cannabis in the vehicle. Franceso Albino Fullone, 23, 5 Wellesley Court, Hawthorn Woods, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and no front registration plate. He was released on a $1,500 bond with a May 23 court date.

 

DUI

Pablo Perez, 55, 1520 Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake Beach, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop on Telser and Ensell roads, May 25. He was charged with DUI, driving without a valid drivers license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a May 23 court date.

Criminal Damage

On April 26, at 10:45 a.m., a complainant reported that someone scratched the driver’s door on her car parked on the 800 block of south Rand Road.

On April 27, at 2:18 a.m., police received a report that someone threw a small weight through the front window of a residence on the 60 block of Suryse road. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.

Gas Theft

On April 27, at 9:51 a.m., a business on the 600 block of south Rand Road reported that a subject dispensed $123 of gasoline and left without paying. Police are investigating.
