Cook County Sheriff Search for Man Described as Armed and Dangerous

Sheriff’s office issues alert seeking any information about Joseph L. Lopez Jr., wanted for Palatine attack.

Cook County Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a man, Joseph L. Lopez Jr., 34, of Mount Prospect, in connection with an attack on a woman in unincorporated Palatine this week.

Lopez is believed to be armed and dangerous, according to a release from Sheriff Thomas J. Dart. He has threatened to shoot police officers who come in contact with him and harm himself, the release stated.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant Thursday for Lopez for aggravated domestic violence, the release stated. Lopez is suspected of severely beating a woman late Tuesday inside a car in a parking lot, sheriff’s deputies said.

Dart asks the public not to approach Lopez and asks anyone with information about Lopez’s whereabouts to call 708-865-4896.

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
