Armed Robbery at Lake Zurich Business

Police seek information on man who robbed tanning salon armed with a knife.

The Lake Zurich Police are investigating an armed robbery that occured this afternoon at Ultimate Exposure Tanning Salon, 267 South Rand Rd., in the North Lake Commons shopping center. 

The victim at the tanning salon was not hurt, said Commander David Bradstreet of the Lake Zurich Police Department. 

Lake Zurich Police Officers responded to the Ultimate Exposure Tanning Salon, at 3:26 p.m., for a 911 call reporting an armed robbery.  Officers searched the immediate area but were unable to locate the offender, according to the news release.

The victim told police the offender entered the building and announced the robbery.  The offender displayed a knife with a black handle and silver serrated blade.  After taking cash, the offender was last seen headed northbound from Ultimate Exposure on foot.

Cmdr. Bradstreet said it is unknown whether or not the offender got into a car after leaving on foot. He said police are reviewing video. He said police believe he may be the same offender wanted for an  

The offender was described as a male, white, approximately 5-foot, 10-inches tall with a medium build.  He is approximately 30 years of age.  He was wearing a blue long sleeve sweater and khaki pants.  He was also said to have short brown spiked hair.  The offender left with an undisclosed amount of United States Currency. Cmdr. Bradstreet said the amount has not been verified by the business.

The Lake Zurich Police Department is requesting that anyone with information please contact the Lake Zurich Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 847-719-1695.  Individuals may provide information anonymously.  Individuals who provide valid information may also be eligible to receive a cash reward for their information.

They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad.
