A Warrant, Thefts, Thieves Pose as Village Employees, a DUI, Damaged Mailbox and Mortorists With Suspended Licenses Keep Police Busy

Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes from February 11-17.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Warrant

Leonard A. Ladd, 49, of 705 East Liberty St., Wheaton, was arrested at 6:40 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, on a valid arrest warrant pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 22 at Orchard Pond Drive, police reports said. The warrant was for operating an uninsured motor vehicle obtained by the Glendale Heights Police Department, according to police reports.  Ladd was released after posting $150 and was issued a Friday, March 18, court date in Glendale Heights.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Richard V. Fox, 46, of 818 Diamond Head East, Shorewood, was arrested at 12:56 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, for driving under the influence of alcohol in the 400 block of South Rand Road, police reports said. Fox was stopped for making an improper turn and driving the wrong way on the road, according to police reports. Fox failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper turn, and driving in the wrong lane, police reports said.  Fox was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a with a Monday, March 21,  court date in Waukegan.

Theft of Clothing

Alise K. Rutherford, 24, of 402 Broadway, Fox Lake, was arrested at 8:11 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Kohl’s Department Store, 675 North Rand Rd., for retail theft, police reports said. Rutherford attempted to leave the store without paying for several items of clothing valued at $300, according to police reports. Rutherford was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a court date in Waukegan.

Driving With A Suspended License

James P. Jermyn, 48, of 900 Garden Circle #5, Streamwood, was arrested and charged at 8:43 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, for driving with a suspended license for pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Golfview Road, police reports said. Jermyn was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Monday, March 2, court date in Mundelein.

Driving With A Suspended License

Ricardo A. Marquez, 20, of 24595 West Passavant Ave., Round Lake, was arrested at 11:37 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, for driving with a suspended license pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 12 at Miller Road, police reports said. During a search, officers discovered an item of drug paraphernalia inside Marquez’s vehicle, police reports said. Marquez was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police reports. Marquez was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Monday, March 14, court date in Waukegan.

Driving With A Suspended License

Ashley M. Leszkiewicz, 20, of 1580 Barrington Court, Algonquin, was arrested at 10:44 p.m., Monday, Feb. 14, for driving with a suspended driver’s license on Route 12 at Miller Road, police reports said. Leszkiewicz was stopped and charged for improper lane usage and driving while driver’s license is suspended, according to police reports. Leszkiewicz was issued a Friday, March 4, court date in Mundelein and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond. 

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Keith J. Ippolito, 33, of 1787 West Ethans Glen Drive, Palatine, was arrested 1:02 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, for driving under the influence on Route 12 at June Terrace, police reports said. Ippolito was stopped for driving the wrong way on Route 12, failed field sobriety testing and was charged with improper turn, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more, according to police reports.  Ippolito was issued a Friday, March 18, court date in Waukegan and released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.  

Mailbox Damaged

Someone damaged a man’s mailbox in the 800 block of Interlaken Drive, he reported to police at 11:26 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 12.  The estimated cost of the damage is $30.  This matter is pending further investigation.  

Men Pose As Village Employees, Take Cash

Two male subjects showed up and reported that they worked for the Village of Lake Zurich and convinced a woman to allow them inside her residence in the 300 block of Fairway Road, she reported to police at 2:08 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12.  While inside they took  $77.  This matter is pending further investigation.  

Diesel Fuel Taken From Vehicle

Someone took diesel fuel from a man’s vehicle while it was parked in the 1000 block of Ensell Road, he reported to police at 5:09 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11.  The stolen fuel has and estimated value of $151.60. This matter is pending further investigation.
