Diane L. Michels, 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center in Glenview.
She was born Jan. 19, 2013 in Chicago and has been a resident of Hawthorn Woods since 1963. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Zurich and was a former employee of Derringer Manufacturing in Mundelein.
Diane enjoyed animals, especially dogs and was a director and recording secretary for the Chicagoland Shih Tzu Club. Surviving are her loving husband Clarence Michels; sister-in-law, Doris Mykisen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Irene Rathke.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 135 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.
Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Chicago. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
