Obituary: Albert William Marulli

Albert William Marulli, 88, a former 45-year resident of Lake Zurich, died Tuesday, November 12.

Services for Albert William Marulli will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich proceeding to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich for a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born on September 14, 1925 in Chicago, the son of the late Lucio and Anna (nee Hunter) Marulli and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington.

Albert was a lover of television.  He owned and operated Al’s Radio and TV in downtown Lake Zurich for 45 years.  In his retirement, he continued to do repair on old televisions, watch and collect movies.  He told fantastic stories; his grandchildren knew him as Sir Albert the Great.  Now deceased, he is remembered as zestful and spirited.  Albert was also a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran.

Beloved husband of 31 years of the late Laura (nee Hoy) Marulli whom he married on February 19, 1949; loving father of Janet (Gary) Schultz and Michael (Susan) Marulli; cherished grandfather of Emily (Benjamin) Abbas, Heidi (Thomas) Sarna, Joseph Schultz, Christopher, Victoria, Kevin and Ryan Marulli; great grandfather of Cora, Lucy, Sadie and Alice Abbas, Stone and Stella Sarna and Carson Marulli.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Al would be appreciated for Heritage Woods of McHenry, 4609 W. Crystal Lake Road, McHenry.
