Cutting Stress at Work: Hear About Solutions at Lake Zurich Rotary, Friday
American businesses lose nearly $300 billion every year to stress-related health care cost and missed work time. Barrington clinical counselors Lori Corrigan and Chelsie-Scoggin-Chang believe they have found an effective solution: they educate business owners and employees on a stress-relieving strategy called mindfulness.
Corrigan and Scoggin-Chang will be speaking about these techniques at Friday’s meeting of the Lake Zurich Rotary Club. The meeting with be at 12:15 at the Holiday Inn Express, 195 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich and includes lunch.
“Seventy-seven percent of people currently experience physical symptoms caused by stress,” says Corrigan. These symptoms include fatigue, headache, upset stomach, muscle tension, change in appetite, teeth grinding, change in sex drive and feeling dizzy. Sufferers also report psychological symptoms including irritability or anger, nervousness, lack of energy and increased emotionality.
