Rotarians Serve Thanksgiving Dinner to the Needy

Hundreds of needy area residents received Thanksgiving Dinner from Rotarians at a recent Emmaus House of Hospitality Dinner.

The Lake Zurich Rotary Club was privileged to be one of the recent sponsors of the Thanksgiving-themed dinner on Nov 21, 2011 at Emmaus House of Hospitality’s weekly dinner for the needy at St Francis De Sales Parish in Lake Zurich.

Dale Perrin, Executive Director of the Lake Zurich Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club member, headed up the club's Thanksgiving dinner efforts.  The Rotary Club and individual members contributed food for the dinner and members assisted in serving, setup and cleanup at the event.  Emmaus House offers the weekly dinner to those people and families that could use the extra assistance in their lives.

Whole Foods in Palatine and Smokin’ T’s Barbecue in Long Grove also donated food to help make the Thanksgiving dinner special.

This event fits in perfectly with the Rotary Club’s goal of “Service Above Self”.  Local events and charities are a large part of the club's activities and fundraising and service efforts.  Rotary is always looking for additional members so that our efforts can be extended even further.  The Rotary Club of Lake Zurich will continue to contribute and support future Emmaus House events.
