Lake Zurich Flames Board Announces Newest Board Members

Lake Zurich - February 2014

The Lake Zurich Flames Youth Football and Cheer Organization would like to announce recent additions to its Board. We have seen great success the past few years and as members move on we are always looking for new energetic folks to join us and continue our mission of being the best youth football and cheer program in the Northwest suburbs.

Lisa Quiroz will be joining us and running a new volunteer committee that was formed this year. She will be working with all our parent volunteers and the board to ensure we have the proper help throughout the season in such areas as concessions, fields, and special events. Lisa has an interest in helping out with some great ideas for fundraising.   She has a blue level football player .

Chris Piggott is also joining our board He was a huge help last season with the Flag program and will be coming on to help run that area for us this year. He has 2 boys participating one if Flag and the other played on our Red Big 10 championship team. Chris is a baseball coach by profession, and we hope to tap his knowledge for our coaching training and preparation.

Sean Matheson has been coaching with the Flames for the past 5 years. He does not have any kids that participate in the program but his nephew is a long time Flames player and was on the undefeated Pac 10 Red team last year. Sean is a life long Lake Zurich native and currently works at the Village of Lake Zurich. We are looking to Sean to help us with field maintenance and setup, and his expertise as a mechanic will certainly come in handy.

Scott Moses also a long time Flames coach going on 8 years starting out with Flag football. Scott has been to 4 championship games as a coach and is a great role model for all the boys. He will be helping us out mostly with our equipment, but will also be jumping in wherever help is needed.

Chuck Burkley has 3 boys playing in the Flames program and has been helping out all his boys teams for years as coordinator and coach. He is going to take over as equipment manager and has a long professional career in purchasing and procurement so this should help out in this area quite a bit.

Michael Drawhorn will be also joining us this year and his focus will be on long term fiscal planning. He will also be participating in our fundraising committee. Michael is pretty new to the Flames, helping coach his son’s teams at the blue level the past 2 years. We look forward to Michael’s long term planning skills which he brings to the table from his career in business consulting.

All of these individuals bring various essential experiences and passion to fill out our existing board structure. We are looking forward to an open and transparent 2014 as we continue to grow the program and keep the solid historical perspective that those before us have created.

Registration for the 2014 season for Flag, Cheer and Tackle football is available on the Lake Zurich Flames website  http://www.lzflames.org
