Rosalind Franklin University Health System’s mobile health unit, Community Care Connection, has scheduled stops at both Lake County Family YMCA branches in October. Blood pressure, blood sugar/diabetes and cholesterol screenings plus BMI (body mass index) and waist measurements will be available to persons of all ages free of charge. In addition, those with questions about healthy eating can get answers from the registered nurse onboard.

The Community Care Connection will visit Northern Lake YMCA, 2000 Western Ave., Waukegan, on Monday, Oct. 1, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

It will be at Central Lake YMCA, 700 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, on Monday, Oct. 8, also from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Note: The Community Care Connection takes its last patient 15 minutes before the close of each site, if space is still available. Screenings are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and the available spaces can fill up rather quickly. So interested persons should plan on arriving as early as possible during each visit.

For more information about the Community Care Connection or its schedule, visit www.rfuhealthsystem.com or call (847) 578-8670.

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
