Lake Zurich Falls to Mount Carmel in State Championship
A parade is planned to celebrate Lake Zurich's great season. It kicks off at noon Sunday.
Lake Zurich fell to Mt. Carmel 30-0 in the Class 7A state championship Saturday.
Lake Zurich fell behind early after two fumbles gave Mt. Carmel great field position. Lake Zurich finished the season 12-2.
A parade is planned on Sunday, Dec. 1 to celebrate the Lake Zurich Bears' great season. The parade will begin at noon. The staging area is on Main Street at Lions Park and will end in the parking lot of Lake Zurich High School.
The parade will travel east on Main Street to Church Street and proceed north on Church to the north parking lot of the high school. Lake Zurich police stated that residents should expect Main Street between Old Rand Road and Route 22 and Church Street between Main Street and Echo Lake Road to be closed for about 30 minutes.
There will be a Bear Rally in the Field House at 1 p.m. after the parade.
