Lake Zurich Playing for State Championship Saturday; Parade Planned for Sunday

Lake Zurich takes on Mt. Carmel in the state championship Saturday at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Lake Zurich will take on Mt. Carmel Saturday, at 4 p.m. at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb for the Class 7A state championship.

Both teams enter the game 12-1.

A parade is planned on Sunday, Dec. 1 to celebrate the Lake Zurich Bears' great season. The parade will begin at noon. The staging area is on Main Street at Lions Park and will end in the parking lot of Lake Zurich High School.

The parade will travel east on Main Street to Church Street and proceed north on Church to the north parking lot of the high school. Lake Zurich police stated that residents should expect Main Street between Old Rand Road and Route 22 and Church Street between Main Street and Echo Lake Road to be closed for about 30 minutes.

There will be a Bear Rally in the Field House at 1 p.m. after the parade.
