Waukegan Y ZumbaThon to Benefit Infant Cancer Patient

Zumba instructor Edith Salinas will be leading a very special event at Lake County Family YMCA’s Waukegan branch later this month. ZumbaThon will raise money for a friend’s 22-month-old son, Jackson, who recently was diagnosed with cancer.

The two-hour event, jam-packed with Zumba, raffles and snacks, takes place on Saturday, March 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Northern Lake Y, 2000 Western Ave.

It promises to be a mutually beneficial way to support Jackson’s family during this difficult time.

Salinas says the family’s medical bills are rising, and she wanted to do something to help. ZumbaThon is open to participants ages 11 and older who want to help her help this family while also working toward their own fitness goals. Tickets cost $7 in advance or $10 at the door the day of the event. For more information contact Mayra Galindo at (847) 360-9622.
