Treetime Christmas Creations, a national premium artificial tree and decor company, will accept donated artificial Christmas trees (3-feet and larger) at its headquarters showroom, 22N102 Pepper Road, Lake Barrington or at Greater Chicagoland Goodwill Stores & Donation Centers (for locations visit AmazingGoodwill.com).
Each donated tree will in turn be available for purchase at area Goodwill stores. Goodwill uses funds from selling donated items to provide training and job opportunities for people who have disabilities, are dislocated or disadvantaged.
“While we celebrate the holiday season year round at Treetime, we know the upcoming Christmas season is the time of year when families want to create a special feeling of joy in their homes,” said Laurie Kane, owner of Treetime Christmas Creations.
“Our ‘Tree Trade-In’ has become a tradition around here for the past two years, and we are thrilled to partner with Goodwill and better their mission of helping people who are disabled, dislocated and disadvantaged. In addition, the donation program offers a ‘greener’ way for residents to pass on their Christmas trees, rather than adding to landfills.”
The Treetime Annual “Tree Trade-In” campaign will run now through October 31.
“Goodwill is pleased to partner with Treetime Christmas Creations on this “Tree Trade-In” program. This program is a perfect fit for us,” said Pat Boelter, chief marketing officer, Goodwill.
“Our shoppers appreciate value and selection, and through this program they will have the opportunity to purchase gently used artificial trees in good condition to make their holidays bright," Boelter said. "The added benefit of shopping at Goodwill is that we reinvest the income from sales of donated items into training and employment programs which makes a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities.”
Area residents who donate a tree will receive 15 percent off a new Treetime artificial Christmas tree purchase, to be redeemed in local Treetime stores (22N102 Pepper Road, Lake Barrington and 1703 N. Rand Road, Palatine) by October 31. For more information, visit www.treetime.com.
The Treetime Christmas Creations large winter wonderland showroom features more than 200 pre-lit, unlit and LED-lit artificial Christmas trees, along with unique ornaments, lights, trim and outdoor decorations in a family atmosphere.
This year’s newly decorated showroom is creatively divided into 15 themed areas, such as A Vintage Christmas, Holiday Celebrations (featuring gold, silver and glitz), and traditional motifs like Ho-Ho Holidays and Candyland.
Goodwill’s mission is to provide training, employment and supportive services for people who are dislocated workers, or have disadvantages or disabilities. In 2012 Goodwill served over 53,000 people in our communities. When you donate or shop at one of our Goodwill Store & Donation Centers, the income from the sale of donated items is reinvested in training and work opportunities for people who have disabilities, are dislocated or disadvantaged.
