Wildflower Walk, Farmers Market Among Weekend Offerings

Where/When: ; 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 26.

Why Go?: Bring the whole family to the Y. Open gym is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and open swim is from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

 Where/When: ; 3 - 7 p.m., Friday, June 24.

Why Go?: Shop for locally-grown, fresh fruits and vegetables along with handmade items. The market will be open rain or shine.

Pricing: Free admission

 Where/When: Rollins Savanna, Washington Street at Atkinson Road, west of Route 45 in Grayslake;  1:30 - 3 p.m., Saturday, June 25.

Why Go?: Learn to identify some beautiful wildflowers and hear interesting anecdotes about them while taking an afternoon walk in a forest preserve. Learn how the plants were named and how they were used by Native Americans for medicines, food and decoration. This event is for anyone age 7 years old or older. Adult supervision is required.

Pricing:$5 per adult or $2 per child for Lake County residents; $7 per adult or $3 per child for non-residents

Where / When: Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire; 8:30 - 10 p.m., Saturday, June 25.

Why Go?: Experience an authentic tribute to Led Zeppelin. Vintage stage gear, costumes and special effects along with Zeppelin music from the 70s will be performed by Kashmir.

Pricing: $8 - 25

Where/When: Adlai E. Stevenson Historic Home, 25200 Saint Marys Road, Mettawa; 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Sunday, June 26.

Why Go?: Tour the home of Adlai E. Stevenson, the influential American known as "the Man from Illinois." See where he wrote his speeches, reviewed world events and relaxed. Tours are open to everyone 8 years old or older, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Pricing: $3 per person for Lake County residents; $5 per person for non-residents
