On the Lake Zurich village board, the village president, four trustees and the village clerk will be up for election.

The slate, the United Lake Zurich Party includes current Village President Suzanne Branding, current Village Clerk Kathleen Johnson and four-year trustee candidates Helmut Gerlach, Todd Minden and Ildiko Schultz. Debra Vander Weit is running with the slate for the two-year term.

Trustees whose terms are expiring are Jeff Halen, Jonathon Sprawka and Rich Sustich.

Current Trustee Tom Poynton is challenging Branding for Village President as an independent. He is supporting incumbent Jeff Halen, newcomers Geoffrey Petzel and Daniel Stanovich, running for four-year terms; and Mark Loewes, running for the two-year term.

Jim Beaudoin is also running as an independent for a four-year term.

Two candidates filed for seats on the  Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 board, Scott McConnell and Eileen Maloney, on the first day, according to Jean Malek, communications director for the district. There are four expired seats on the seven member board.

One candidate, James Stamoolis, filed for a seat on the Ela Area Public Library Board which has four trustee openings.
