Puppies Rescued From Barrington Hills Find Homes

All but two of the puppies rescued by Lake Zurich-based Green Pup Shelter have been placed in forever homes, but the shelter is still working to rescue older puppies from the site.

Three of the puppies had been adopted, as of early this week, said Misty Lindstrand, vice president of Green Pup Shelter, based in Lake Zurich.

Lindstrand said the shelter received a call from Aid to Animals of Northern Illinois, a cat rescue, that there were 15 dogs running loose in Barrington Hills. Rescue workers went to the home to save the dogs.

Some of the dogs were diagnosed with parvovirus and treated at Lake Villa Animal Hospital and also by Dr. Hamid of Animal Hospital of Randall Plaza in Crystal Lake.

"They are all healthy and doing great," Lindstrand said.

She said Green Pup Shelter wants to save the remaining dogs, but needs assistance from other shelters.

"We really need the help of other rescues to go in with us to save the
adults remaining. We are foster based, and do not have enough open households to foster the ones left," she said.

Lindstrand said there are about 13 dogs left at the premises that are one- to three-years old.
