Photos with Santa, Library Events Planned

Check out a few events that are planned in Lake Zurich this weekend.

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Here are a few events to be aware of:

The will offer photos with Santa from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 19. The event will take place at the Lions Den on Main Street. All you have to do is donate three canned goods for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, and you'll receive a free 5x7 photo print courtesy of Walgreens. Additional prints can be purchased for 50 percent off. Appointments aren't necessary. Pets are also welcome!

On Nov. 19, the , in partnership with Pillars of Honor Inc., will unveil an original scale model of the National World War II Memorial. "A Day of Honor" reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 will honor local veterans and their families at The Chapel, 330 S. Old Rand Road. "A Day of Honor" will feature a color guard presentation, speakers, acknowledgement of each veteran in attendance and the unveiling of the model, which will be on permanent display at the Smithsonian Museum.
   
Also at the library, on Nov. 20, Jeanine Hill-Soldner will share her work and stories from veterans. Hill-Soldner is an artist from Chicago and founder of the Portraits of American Veterans Project. Her portraits are displayed in the library through Nov. 30. Her presentation on Nov. 20 will be held from 2 to 3 p.m.
