Meeting on Dimucci Rezoning Rescheduled for Wednesday

Lake County RPC will debate and make a recommendation regarding rezoning the property at Route 12 and Old McHenry Road.

The Lake County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) will reconvene at 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer to debate proposed rezoning of the  Dimucci property, which is at the southeast corner of Route 12 and Old McHenry Road.

This meeting is rescheduled from its original date, June 25, when the RPC delayed the discussion on the

The development is opposed by neighboring communities of Hawthorn Woods and North Barrington.

The Dimucci family has submitted a development application to Lake County to develop their approximately 109 acres of property at Rt. 12 and Old McHenry Road. The request is for a rezoning from residential to commercial with a planned unit development (PUD) to allow for up to 53 acres of high quality commercial development, surrounded by about 50 acres of open space.

After the Lake County Regional Planning Commission’s recommendation, the proposal will move on to the Zoning Board of Appeals, which will meet Wednesday, July 18, 5 p.m. at Concorde Banquets.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will make a recommendation and the Planning Building and Zoning Committee will conduct a detailed review. The proposal then will go before the Lake County Board for a final decision.

We feel there are many salient facts that are being distorted and misrepresented by some of our neighbors and surrounding Village officials. We would like to respond to some of these misconceptions. 1. We have not proposed a specific building plan and have never proposed building an 800,000 sqft. shopping center. 2. This plan is nothing similar to the plan presented by the Taubman corporation back in the late 1990’s. 3. The intergovernmental boundary agreement between North Barrington and Hawthorn Woods doesn’t include Lake County and NEVER included our input. The agreement is not even followed or respected by the two Villages. We welcome everyone to take a look at our website. All of the information you will find is factual and can be substantiated by documents and agreements executed by your elected officials. www.rdimucciproperty.com
