Meeting on Dimucci Rezoning Rescheduled for Wednesday

Lake County RPC will debate and make a recommendation regarding rezoning the property at Route 12 and Old McHenry Road.

The Lake County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) will reconvene at 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer to debate proposed rezoning of the  Dimucci property, which is at the southeast corner of Route 12 and Old McHenry Road.

The development is opposed by neighboring communities of Hawthorn Woods and North Barrington.

The Dimucci family has submitted a development application to Lake County to develop their approximately 109 acres of property at Rt. 12 and Old McHenry Road. The request is for a rezoning from residential to commercial with a planned unit development (PUD) to allow for up to 53 acres of high quality commercial development, surrounded by about 50 acres of open space.

After the Lake County Regional Planning Commission’s recommendation, the proposal will move on to the Zoning Board of Appeals, which will meet Wednesday, July 18, 5 p.m. at Concorde Banquets.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will make a recommendation and the Planning Building and Zoning Committee will conduct a detailed review. The proposal then will go before the Lake County Board for a final decision.
