Meet the World's Happiest Dog

Bernice, a lovely 8-year-old Basset Hound Mix, is a fun-loving companion.

Well, hello there! Allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Bernice, and though my name may sound a bit old-fashioned, I am anything but! I am a very happy-go-lucky and loveable gal who is as happy as a dog can get.

I am one of those dogs who just loves to make people smile. Whether it is with my funny basset-like ways of waddling through the yard, or a quick sneak-attack kiss, or with the most joyful greeting you could imagine when you come home, I feel that my goal in life is to make people happy.

I do enjoy a good nap in a cozy bed, and love to romp in the yard. I love walks, as my hound nose enjoys a good sniff around the neighborhood. I am good with other dogs, and am quite respectful to cats. I would be good with children of pretty much any age, but my low-to-the-ground profile may be more suitable for children who are steady on their feet! I’m a big dog in a short package, which has its benefits, like my tail is too low to accidentally swipe drinks off the table, but I’m big enough to not accidentally get underfoot! I’m the perfect size!

I am quite the catch, and anyone who has met me will tell you the same thing! So I hope you will arrange for a date for us to meet soon!

I’m spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, had my teeth cleaned, and have been microchipped. My blood test results say I’m a healthy lady. My happy demeanor will help me adjust quickly to any home. Fill out an adoption application today! My adoption for of $165 benefits all the homeless senior pets at Young at Heart Pet Rescue. I can’t wait to meet you!
