Lake Zurich Area Road Work Update

Lake County Rep. Craig Taylor updates residents on Quentin Road, Cuba Road work.

Quentin and Old McHenry Roads Resurfacing
This project is an asphalt surface removal and replacement initiative and areas with a 2' asphalt paved shoulder will be widened to provide a bike-friendly 4' asphalt shoulder.

This project began in the fall of 2012 and work is scheduled to begin again in April. When work begins, expect daily lane closures using flaggers and one lane traffic control. Watch for workers and equipment. Estimated completion is July 2013.

Quentin Road Reconstruction and Widening
The existing Quentin Road pavement will be removed and rebuilt/widened to provide two lanes in each direction. New traffic signals will be installed at US12 at Long Grove Rd and at White Pine Rd, with additional turn lanes added. Other features of the project include a bikepath, and landscaped medians.

Construction began in late February and should be complete by the end of the year. The same number of lanes as exist now will be available during construction. There may be some days where temporary daytime lane closures may be necessary. US12 traffic is not anticipated to be impacted in a major way, as road construction will only take place on Quentin Road.
