Where/when: Brushwood, Ryerson Conservation Area, Riverwoods; 10 to 11 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 11.
Why go? Explore oak and maple trees with your grandparents on this special day. Visit the Ryerson cabins and the Brushwood Mansion that were built when your grandparents were young. All ages are welcome to attend this free event and no registration is required.
Pricing: Free admission.

Where/when: ; 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9.
Why go? Shop for locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, along with handmade items. The market will be held rain or shine.

Where/when: ; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2.
Why go? Rally Day is fun for all ages. Games on the lawn and lunch in the fellowship hall. Then, kids in grades six through 12 are invited to celebrate the fall season by getting thoroughly muddy during Mess'd Fest.
Pricing: Rally Day is free; $10 donation per person for Mess'd Fest.
