Where/When: Downtown Long Grove, 2110 Old McHenry Road; 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 3 - 5.

Why Go?: Enjoy several internationally-themed events, ethnic dancers and live music outdoors. Explore the rich culture in the shops of Long Grove, take advantage of their in-store specials and treats. A great way to spend the Labor Day weekend.

Pricing: Free admission. 

 

2.

Where/When: ; 3 - 7 p.m., Friday, September 2.

Why Go?: Shop for locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables along with handmade items. The market will be held rain or shine.

Pricing: Free admission.

 

3.

Where/When: ; 7:30 - 10:30 p.m., Friday, September 2.

Why Go?: This is the featured game of week 2 of the 2011 high school football season on CN100. Pack the stands and cheer for the Bears. The game will be rebroadcast at noon on Saturday, September 3 and 7 p.m. on Monday, September 5 and will remain on Comcast's On Demand channel throughout the season. (The sophomore boys play tonight at 5 p.m.)

Where / When: Greenbelt Cultural Center, North Chicago; 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Friday, September 2.

Why Go?: View photos of the legendary Walter Payton, taken by professional photographers from around the nation.

Pricing: No admission fee but special event charges may apply.

Where/When: ; 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Sunday, September 4.

Why Go?: Spend some fun family time playing in the open gym or open swim at the Y. Visit www.fogliaymca.org for more details and membership information.

Pricing: Free for Y members.
