Ela Area Public Library Offers Voice-over for Kids

Preschool dance and Valentine craft programs planned for February

Introduction to Voice-over for Kids and Adults

Windy City Voice talents Kathy Poelker and David  Lecinski will present two workshops on the voice-over industry on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Ela Area Public Library. Kids in grades 3-7 will have the opportunity to practice a script, make appropriate vocal choices, rehearse with other voices and get “on mic” to record during the “Kids on Mic!” workshop from 10 a.m.-noon. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and the child must read fluently with a little practice. Class is limited to 20 children.

Beginning at 1 p.m., the second session is geared for teens in grades 8 and older and adults. Learn about the voice-over industry, analyze a script, make appropriate vocal choices, rehearse with class participants and actually get “on mic” to record lines. Participants in both sessions will receive an emailed review and evaluation of their performance.
