The Lake County Division of Transportation announced that Cuba Road will be closed on Monday, May 14, due to repairs by Canadian National Railroad (CNR).
Although the repairs are referred to as "emergency repairs," there are not any hazardous conditions at the railroad crossing, explained Al Giertych, assistant county engineer for the Lake County Division of Transportation.
CNR will be repairing the pads at the railroad crossing, which are worn, Giertych said.

Cuba Road will close at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 14. Cuba Road should reopen to through traffic on the evening of Friday, May 18.
The detour route will be Route 59 to Route 22 to Route 12 to Ela Road to Lake County Route V-57. Local traffic will be allowed from Route 59 to the crossing and from the crossing to Ela Road, Lake County V-57.
