Cub Scouts Pack 964 Want to Save the Day

Scouts visit with Patch.com and help write a story.

Lake Zurich Patch Editor Claudia Lenart visited with scouts from Pack 964 and they wanted to write a story about saving Lake Zurich from a tornado, but instead we decided to write about what they have been doing and learning this year.

The boys are first graders at May Whitney School.

They recently visited the Lake Zurich Police Station.

They learned sportsmanship at the Pinewood Derby.

"We learned that we can't always win first place," Gavin Knappstein said.

'Even if you're not at a meet that doesn't mean you miss anything," Joey Walker said.

They went to the Inland Bank and visited the vault.

"And I said 'Cash City," Logan Slattery said.

"We went bowling," Ethan Bucclli said.

"We went to the vet where they fixed animals," Travis King said.

The Cub Scouts have been quite busy this year and now they can add rookie reporter to the list of experiences.
