Concert Under The Stars; Play At CLC Among Weekend Offerings

Find out what's happening in Lake Zurichwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When: ; 6 p.m. - midnight, Friday, July 22; Noon - midnight, Saturday, July 23; and 1 - 9 p.m. Sunday, July 24.

Why Go?: Carnival rides, food, games, entertainment and family events. The largest parade in Lake County, the Alpine Fest Parade, takes place on Sunday.

Where/When: Main Street; Noon, Saturday, July 23.

Why Go?: The Farmers Market, which is usually held on Fridays at Lions Park, will be held during the Alpine Fest this weekend. Shop for locally-grown, fresh fruits and vegetables along with handmade items.

Pricing: Free admission.

Where/When: Countryside Association; 7 - 9 p.m.; Friday, July 22.

Why Go?: Enjoy an outside concert of music from the '50s, '60s and beyond. Pack your own picnic or purchase snacks, soda and water at the concert. Proceeds will benefit the Countryside Association.

Pricing: $8 per person.

Where / When: ; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, July 23.

Why Go?: To increase awareness and resources in local blood banks, LifeSource and the Village of Lake Zurich have teamed up to sponsor this event. The challenge is county-wide to see which local fire departments can produce the highest number of units. This year, the blood drive has been incorporated into the Lions Club Alpine Fest. Alpine Fest visitors can stop in and make a blood donation and receive five Alpine Bucks to redeem for carnival rides, food or drinks at the fest. Where/When: at the , 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake; 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23; 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24.

Why Go?: See the smash hit, Oliver!, presented by the CLC departments of theatre, music and dance, and take a quick trip to 19th Century London without leaving Lake County. The show is full of memorable Broadway songs performed by local student and adult performers in the 60-member cast. (The show was rescheduled to these dates due to the recent power outages.)

Pricing: $16 for general public; $13 for CLC students/alumni/staff/seniors 65 and over.
