Ela Food Drive in Honor of Mark Fackler Who Died in Rafting Accident

Lake Zurich Police Department has bin in lobby for donations to food drive.

The Ela Coalition Board is coordinating a food collection for the St. Vincent de Paul Food pantry in honor of Mark Fackler, husband of Susan Fackler, clinical director for the Social Work Program.

Mark Fackler died in a rafting accident in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on Aug. 7, 2012.  

Mark D. Fackler, 59, of Mundelein, was on a guided rafting trip on the Menominee River in Norway, MI, with his wife, Susan, two other passengers and a guide, and both he and his wife were thrown from the raft after it struck a rock, according to the Daily Herald.

There is a collection box in the lobby of the  Donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries will be accepted 24 hours a day at this location.  Cash donations may also be made at the Sept. 11, 2012 Ela Coalition meeting.  The meeting will be held at the Ela Township Office, 1155 East Route 22, Lake Zurich, at 6:30 P.M.
