Dance Show to be Held in Honor of Gabby Drozdz

Tickets are now on sale for the Dec. 10 show.

Anna Palmisano Berman and Trilogy Dance hope the community will come together to do something special for the family of Gabby Drozdz.

Gabby was killed in a hit-and-run in July as she and two friends walked to Alpine Fest. On Dec. 10, Trilogy Dance will hold its annual December show — and proceeds will go toward purchasing a headstone for Gabby's gravesite.

"We, as a community, would like to offer the headstone as the ultimate gift," said Berman, who serves as director of Trilogy Dance, Pom Connection and the Ela Theatre Company.

Berman knew Gabby for many years. Berman's daughter and Gabby were best friends.

"I went to the Thanksgiving Mass Thursday morning and it was just heartbreaking," Berman said of the Mass at St. Francis de Sales that was offered in honor of Gabby.

Berman said 130 children will perform in the Dec. 10 "Dancing for a Star" show, which will be held at Lake Zurich Performing Arts Center. The two-hour show will start at 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale and are $10 apiece. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, contact Berman at 1-847-456-7880 or Anna@TrilogyDance.com. Tickets also can be purchased at Couture 360 salon and Inland Bank.

"We're hoping to sell out," said Berman.

The individual who hit Gabby has not yet been caught. The vehicle that hit Gabby and her friends is described as a two-tone blue van with a lighter accent color, possibly silver or gray. The vehicle being sought is a GMC Safari or Chevrolet Astro van from model years 1985-94. Anyone with information on this vehicle is asked to call Lake County Crime Stoppers at 1-847-662-2222.
