LZHS Orchesis Amazes with 'A Moment to Dance'

Team of girls had a successful show.

The Lake Zurich High School Orchesis Dance Company held its show, "A Moment to Dance" last Friday and Saturday. The team of 18 girls performed various styles of dancing including jazz, lyrical, musical theater, tap, and hip hop. The show contained student-choreographed dances and pieces created by guest choreographers Carissa Jurczyk, Alyssa Fletcher, Mary Tisa, and Logan Lipton. The Orchesis Dance Company is led by the directors Jenna Cataldi and Kristin Drollinger.

About Orchesis from the LZHS website:

Orchesis is a Greek word that means "to dance." The Orchesis Dance Company at Lake Zurich High School has been around for several years, each year improving and integrating more dance styles into their performances. The first Orchesis in the U.S. was organized in 1917 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and ever since, schools around the country have been creating their own companies.
