A Little Bit of Jazz and Wine Makes for a Festival

Deer Park Town Center presents "Jazz Patio & Wine Festival" on Aug. 10.

The area’s finest jazz groups, headlined by the premiere big band in the country, the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, will gather at Deer Park Town Center for the “Jazz Patio & Wine Festival.”

The fest will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 and features the Dan Ferris group, the John Moulder Quartet and the Eric Schneider Quartet featuring Dee Alexander.

Deer Park Town Center is also hosting Pianos on Parade, seven pianos transformed by local students and artists to represent the colors of the rainbow. Each piano will be available for the public to play and enjoy during the festival.

Pianos on Parade is a joint collaboration between Keys 4/4 Kids, a local nonprofit organization, and the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council. Together, Keys 4/4 Kids, and community and business sponsors will showcase the work of local artists and musicians.

In addition to the live jazz, a wine tasting sponsored by Gallo and there will be a magician, face painters and other events for the kids.
