Sweet Corn Makes its Arrival at LZ Farmers Market

Today’s weather is perfect for a trip out to the Lake Zurich Farmers Market where Red Barn Market will have sweet corn available for sale.

The Lake Zurich Farmers Market (LZFM) is open until 7 p.m. at Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road. 

LZFM is having a successful first season, Village President Tom Poynton said. Vendors are now calling the village asking if they can come set up at the market, he said. He encouraged residents to visit the market.

Today, Aug. 9, there will be a free kids craft until 4:30 p.m. and the Lake Zurich Community Garden will accept donations of used garden tools. The tools will be sharpened free of charge by Sharpening by Kris, according to the market’s Facebook page.

Additionally, 102.3 WXLC will broadcast from 3 to 5 p.m. at the market. The radio station will have giveaways and chances to win tickets to the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, Wis.
