Local Scouts Queue Up For Memorial Day Parade

Lake Zurich scout troops marched in Monday's annual American Legion Memorial Day Parade.

On Monday, various scouting groups and troops queued up to participate in the annual Memorial Day parade sponsored by American Legion Post 964. The parade kicked off just after 10 a.m. and proceeded to the Veterans Memorial at 200 Mohawk Trail. At the parade's conclusion, a brief service was held honoring those from the area who sacrificed their lives in service of their country, including 23 from Lake County who have died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Afterward, a cookout was held at the American Legion.
