Lake Zurich Keeps on Giving for Hurricane Relief

Lake Zurich community to fill second truck of goods headed for New Jersey.

Last week, . The supplies were delivered courtesy of Lake Zurich company New Age Transportation.

New Age Transportation President and CEO Carolyn Gable said she was spurred to help out after watching a CNN interview with the mayor of Hoboken, NJ, Dawn Zimmer.

"I was watching the mayor talk to Anderson Cooper and she said 'We don't have anything.' The desperation on her face-- the next day I decided we had to do something," Gable said.

"What if that was us and an earthquake hit the Midwest and life went on over the rest of the states," she said. "We'll do whatever we can do. My employees are crusaders."

Gable said she was pleased with how well the effort went. "Everybody was spreading the word, the fire department helped, the police department helped," she said.
