Lake Zurich Dance Instructors Bring Years of Experience to Revamped Program

Lake Zurich Parks and Recreation is hosting an open house for residents at 6:30 p.m., today, July 29, to learn about the dance programs.

From ballet to jazz to hip-hop, Lake Zurich Dance instructors have years of experience and are ready to share their love of dance with Lake Zurich families.

The program is hosting an open house where residents can meet the dance instructors at 6:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Creek building, 675 Old Mill Grove. Families can register at the event or online on the park district's website.

Mollee Johnson is the liaison for the program. She will be teaching classes as well. She has over 30 years experience in dance, including 13 years as dance instructor and company director with the Arlington Heights Park District, and is excited to share her passion for dance with Lake Zurich residents.

The new instructors are:

Jennifer Rowley

Rowley is a dance instructor who has a degree in dance and psychology from Denison University. She has danced professional and presented her choreography in Washington, D.C., New York and Chicago. She has studied dance abroad in London. Rowley has been a dance instructor for 10 years and is thrilled to share her love of dance with students.

Kristine Boyce

​Boyce began ballet training at the age of three.  At the age of eight she trained at The Performing Arts of Spring Grove and performed with the Illinois Youth Dance Theater.  During high school, Boyce joined the Judith Svalanders School of Ballet where she began as a trainee and worked her way up to Judith Svalanders Company. There Miss Boyce participated in multiple productions of “Sleeping Beauty,” “Copellia,” and 20 plus productions of “The Nutcracker.” Boyce is currently working towards her degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in dance and performance.     

Amy Hill

Hill has been dancing since a young age and continued her love of the art into Her adult years. Hill graduated from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, where she performed in numerous shows and obtained a dance minor. She enjoys various forms of dance and especially enjoys having the opportunity to pass on her passion for dance through teaching.

Haley Reckling

Reckling joins lake Zurich dance with a background in both high school and collegiate poms. She has danced since the age of three and has training on jazz, ballet, tap, and hip-hop.
