Lake Zurich Chamber Announces Award Recipients

The Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce 2012 Excellence Awards were presented at an awards banquet.

 


The Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce (LZACC) announced the award recipients for the 2012 Excellence Awards. The awards banquet was be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer with 200 area business, political, and community leaders present. 


The LZACC Excellence Awards recognize achievements in the areas of business, education, government and not-for-profit organizations for their efforts to make the Lake Zurich Area a better place in which to live and work. Nominations were made by chamber members, local residents and government entities.

Business of the Year went to Jack Edgar, DDS, Hawthorn Woods. The award honors a Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce business or organization that has made a positive impact on the Lake Zurich Area during the last 12 months by demonstrating: Support and involvement in the Chamber; an ongoing commitment to quality products and service, business growth, innovation, involvement in, or support of community; philanthropy, significant improvement to facility, support of employees, and other special recognition either within the community or field of business 

Citizen of the Year went to Claire Slatter of Mindful Mix, Lake Zurich.
The award honors a citizen who has made significant contributions to the betterment of the community during the last 12 months in the areas of leadership, philanthropy, public service, volunteerism, and having a positive influence on the lives of others and the community.

Educator of the Year  went to Regina Hope, Lake Zurich. 

The award honors an individual in the educational or training profession who for the past 12 months has demonstrated a commitment to the highest standards and practices and improvement of the educational experience by encouraging creativity, giving selflessly, and inspiring others to excel while contributing to the overall educational community. 


Chamber Volunteer of the Year went to Nancy Needham, , Lake Zurich 
The award honors that Chamber member representative who during this past year has given selflessly and contributed significantly to the success and growth of the Chamber of Commerce through their involvement.


Samuel R. Mitchell Director of the Year went to Ken Grooms, Grooms Insurance Associates, Lake Zurich 
The award honors that Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce Director who during the past year has best met the challenges of leadership and exceeded expectations as a member of the Board of Directors.



LZACC Presidents Awards for outstanding achievement with the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce in 2012 went to:
Janet Dobson, Kemper Lakes Golf Course, Golf Outing Chairperson and board member 
Muffi Painter, Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce, staff 

The LZACC expressed gratitude to Chris Geimer Designs and Call Me Social Butterfly for sponsoring The Cavern Beat at the dance.

Wow, this story really shows how selfish some people are now. The person who complained to theRead More police better hope he/she never needs any help or compassion from anyone or any organization. They don't deserve it. You were trying to have a great event and some hater couldn't put earplugs in their ears for one night of their life if they didn't like the noise. So sad. Way to go for your efforts though! Bob
