The Lake County Division of Transportation should be done replacing a culvert under Cuba Road by Wednesday and expects to reopen the road by the afternoon.
Cuba Road remained closed Tuesday leaving motorists to take the signed detour route from Ela Road to Route 12 to Route 22.
The good news is that Cuba Road is scheduled to reopen, a LCDT spokesman said.

LCDT shut down the road , just west of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railroad Tracks, last week to replace a collapsed culvert, the spokesman said. It had become a safety issue that needed to get repaired. The repairs were supposed to be done last month, but the weather delayed the project, he said.
