DESCRIPTION:Lake County Heritage Farm Foundation to Announce Competition&
 rsquo\;s Winning Artists\nFinalists in The Farm: Images from the Heartla
 nd 2012 farm art competition will display their artwork at the Lake Coun
 ty Discovery Museum from Saturday\, August 25\, to Sunday\, November 4\,
  2012. The Artist Reception will be held on Sunday\, August 26\, 2012\, 
 1-4:00 PM at the Discovery Museum\, located at the Lakewood Forest Prese
 rve\, Wauconda. At that time the award-winning artists will be announced
 . Members of the public are invited to attend the free reception and vie
 w the exhibition.\n&nbsp\;\nAwards of Excellence will be presented in th
 e amount of $300\, $200 and $100 for first\, second and third place posi
 tions.&nbsp\; Since the exhibit has Lake County roots and origins\, a Sp
 ecial Award of $250 will be given for a Lake County\, Illinois\, image a
 nd will be provided by the Friends of the Lake County Discovery Museum. 
 The Lake County Farm Bureau will sponsor the $100 award.\n&nbsp\;\nHigh 
 quality works in various media were submitted\, with artists from many I
 llinois counties--Lake\, DeKalb\, Warren\, DuPage\, Champaign\, Cook\, a
 nd Rockford participating. Valparaiso\, Madison and Williams Bay are als
 o represented.&nbsp\; A total of 225 works was submitted\, with a number
  of well-known local artists participating. Names of the 49 finalists ca
 n be found on the Foundation&rsquo\;s website\, www.lchff.org. Jurors Di
 dier Nolet\, Joy Horwich\, and Nancy Schumm agreed that the quality of w
 orks submitted made their process enjoyable and challenging. Art works o
 n display will be offered for sale to museum members and the general pub
 lic.\n&nbsp\;\nThe Lake County Heritage Farm Foundation (LCHFF)\, an org
 anization dedicated to preserving the farming history of Lake County\, r
 ecently conducted this competition for artists in the tri-state area of 
 Illinois\, Wisconsin\, and Indiana. The competition and subsequent exhib
 ition are a cooperative effort of the Lake County Heritage Farm Foundati
 on\, the Friends of the Lake County Discovery Museum\, the Liberty Prair
 ie Foundation\, and the Lake County Farm Bureau.\n&nbsp\;\nContact perso
