St. Peter United Church of Christ, Lake Zurich, will hold its annual Outdoor Worship and Picnic on Sunday, July 29 at Paulus Park on Rand Road (across from Sonic drive-in restaurant).
The day begins with outdoor worship at 10 a.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to make yourself comfortable (and sunscreen). After worship, we fire up the grills and enjoy a meal together. Meat (hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken breasts) and beverages are provided. You need only bring a salad, side dish, snack, or dessert to share.
After worship and food, the fun and games begin for all ages—volleyball, Baggo, children’s games and more. If there are 15 or more people who are interested in swimming, the beach and/or the spray-ground will be available for reduced rates. ($3 for LZ residents, $4 for non-residents).
Please sign-up at the church, or call 847-438-6441 and let the church office know you plan to attend. Everyone is welcome to this event.

More About Henry J. Paulus Park
Henry J. Paulus Park is the centerpiece of the Lake Zurich Park and Recreation Department and perhaps of the community. Michael J. Perkins is its director. In addition to many enticing attractions, it hosts an array of events each year, such as the Fourth of July fireworks. Take a stroll along its paths and you may happen upon some geese. There are several places along the paths to stop and take in glimpses of Lake Zurich. The beach has a children's water park adjacent to it as well as wooden playground equipment. Don't forget to visit the concession stand for some refreshments.
Elsewhere in the park, there is a covered pavilion with seating, perfect for evening concerts. Play horseshoes or volleyball, if you like, or just picnic under one of the pavilions or benches. If that's not enough, there's a skateboarding area and a sled hill. The parking lot holds up to 150 vehicles.
