 renowned expert on violence\, the criminal justice system and mental ill
 ness. &nbsp\;Art was instrumental in designing the cook County Mental He
 alth Court and was the principal investigator on a study of the Cook Cou
 nty Juvenile Court Clinic. Dr. Lurigio will bring to the audience a weal
 th of information and recommendations as to how to improve the treatment
  and care of people with serious mental illness in the criminal justice 
 system. &nbsp\;He will also share his knowledge about the "war on drugs"
  which has expanded the criminal justice net\, sweeping into jails and p
 risons large numbers of mentally ill with co-morbid substance use disord
 ers. &nbsp\;Dr. Lurigio has presented at local\, state and national conf
 erences. &nbsp\;The information he has to share has universal&nbsp\;appe
