Libertyville was orginally named Independence Grove, before it was changed to Libertyville, and it's namesake offers a year-round oasis for Libertyville and Lake County residents, as well as others in the surrounding communities. Nestled on the corner of Route 137 and Milwaukee Avenue, Independence Grove offers trails, boating, fishing and a beach in the summer months, and ice skating and ice fishing in the winter.
