What's on Your Top Ten Love Song List?
Is it Adele, Whitney or Frank Sinatra? I've shared mine; now it's your turn.
You know what it's like when you go to one of those restaurants with menus that are just too big. Too many choices and you get overwhelmed.
Well that's pretty much how I felt when I decided to create this "Top Ten Best Love Songs According to Claudia" list.
After all, most songs are about love, so there are millions to choose from. Do I focus on songs that have personal meaning in my life, songs from my favorite artists, songs that are critically acclaimed?
Basically, I started with my favorite artists and after doing some Google and YouTube searches kept stumbling onto other love songs that I love.
It was difficult to narrow down the list and I’m sure after this posts, there will be some song that pops in my head and I’ll think “How did I forget that?!!”
So here’s my list but it’s not in order, because that would take hours more of decisions.
I Will Always Love You by the late Whitney Houston No this isn't on the list because Whitney died this weekend. I loved that song since Dolly Parton sang it honestly and beautifully. Whitney’s version was phenomenal. Even Dolly said that, although she wrote the song, Whitney owned it.
In My Life by the Beatles This song says you're the one I've been waiting for.
Iris by Goo Goo Dolls The song is dreamy and so is Johnny Rzeznik.
I’m Yours by Jason Mraz I cannot listen to this song too many times.
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack Extraordinarily romantic.
Is This Love by Bob Marley Great summer or getaway vacation love song.
Crash by Dave Matthews Band Awesome song and I love Dave.
It Will Rain by Bruno Mars Had to include a song from Bruno on the list and he puts so much emotion into this.
I Melt With You by Modern English and Lovesong by the Cure Two songs that are on my list because they were meaningful to me in the 80s.
First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes Meaningful capture of what it's like to be in love.
Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros Feel good love song.
A Case of You by Joni Mitchell A true artist with a large repertoire of love songs to choose from.
OK, so I couldn't stop at 10. Now it's your turn. Tell us your favorite love songs.

It would have been better if Dolly Parton would have sung "I will Always Love You" last night since she wrote the song. If she was asked and couldn't do it, that is one thing, but if she wasn't even asked, that is just wrong. Jennifer Hudson did a very good job with the song; however.

Lately I like One Life Stand by Hot Chip: http://youtu.be/Jk-A-I-T2NU, though I have to say I'll Always Love You is pretty good, too.

Am I the only one that absolutely hated Whitney Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You?" It sounded to me like she was trying to show off what she could do with her voice, and in the process ruined the song.

I'm totally with you. Way overdone. It was the anti-Dolly version.
